The “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” follows the Dades valley bordered by a series of traditional Berber houses perched on the river sides, sometimes barely distinguishable from the rocks themselves on to Erfoud.
2. Todra Gorge
Spend the day in the beautiful Todra Gorge.
Take a guided walk through the gorge where figs, dates, almonds and pomegranate are grown in abundance.
For the more adventurous spend the morning hiking in the mountains.
3. Tinejdad
4. Erfoud
Erfoud is known as the "Gate of Sahara Desert" and is famous for the date festival. Held every October this 3-day festival is not to be missed.
Try the most beautiful fresh dates in the world, if you are lucky enough to be travelling through this region during harvest.
Erfoud is also well-known for fossils. Visit a fossil shop and see how large slices of rock are cut exposing fossils of a bygone era from ammonite, crinoids, orthoceras, stromatolites and more.
Imilchi
Take an excursion to Imilchi from the Dades Valley before you start your trip to Erfoud or on your return if you return the same way you came.
