Traveling to Morocco as a tourist is a pretty easy affair from most countries in the world.
The entry requirements are straight forward, and in many cases it's not required for you have a Morocco tourist visa, also known as a Morocco travel visa. You will need a passport, however, as well as a return ticket in hand.
The Morocco travel visa exception pertains to those travellers that will only be visiting for 90 days. You also do not need a Morocco tourist visa if you are a transit passenger taking a connecting flight within 24 hours with proper documentation and you are not leaving the airport
Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay in Morocco. However, the Moroccan Embassy advise that your passport should be valid for at least 3 months on your date of entry to Morocco. If your passport does not meet this requirement you may face difficulties and you should check with the Moroccan authorities and your travel provider before travelling.
Before travelling, make sure your passport is not damaged. Some travellers have been refused entry when travelling on damaged passports.

Being prepared before you travel to any country is important, but Morocco is one of those places where travel insurance is an absolute must.
This is due to much of the country being made up of desert and mountainous terrain, so finding medical facilities can be difficult when there’s an emergency.
For some holidaymakers, there is concern over general travel safety and terrorist attacks. But for the most part, this magical country is safe to visit as long as you take precautions and follow the necessary travel guidelines.
Moroccans are a peace-loving nation, and most of the people you will come across are friendly and welcoming of tourists. In fact, tourism is a main industry and many Moroccans rely on tourists from around the world to keep their businesses running. With over 12 million visitors in a year, and such close proximity to Europe, this is a path well-travelled – but with the sense of being totally off the beaten track!
Routine vaccinations are recommended for all travellers.
Hepatitis A is recommended for most travellers, including those with “standard” itineraries and accommodations.
Hepatitis B is to be considered for most travellers and recommended for those who might be exposed to blood or other bodily fluids, have sexual contact with the local population, or be exposed through medical treatment (e.g., for an accident).
Our Embrace Morocco guides will advise you of the best restaurants and places to eat.
You should however be diligent about food and water precautions:
Avoid cooked food served at room temperature.
Avoid raw food, including raw vegetables unless they can be washed thoroughly.
Drink only beverages from sealed bottles or cans.
Water is safe if it has been boiled or chemically treated.
Avoid ice unless made from bottled/disinfected water.
Consider getting a prescription of an antibiotic for self-treatment of travellers’ diarrhoea, factoring in resistance issues at the destination.
Morocco is generally hot, with summers that can really bake the landscape.
We’d recommend loose clothing that covers the skin and hats to protect the face and neck from sunburn. It can, however, get quite chilly in the evenings in some destinations so it’s worth packing a sweater or two.
Please bring modest clothing if you are planning to visit Mosques or other religious locations such as the city Mausoleums.
Embrace Morocco will provide more information regarding clothing requirements by email before your visit.

Your tip should always be paid in cash and left on the table. Don’t simply add it to your bill when paying with your bank card. If you do that, your server will not receive their tip.
