Morocco’s capital city is Rabat. It is an old imperial Capital of domes and minarets, sweeping terraces, wide avenues and green spaces.

What to see and do

You can visit the impressive Chellah – a necropolis and complex of ancient, medieval ruins.

Walk around the picturesque Almohad northern walls of the Oudaïa Kasbah, and continue to the Hassan tower, which stands on the hill overlooking the Wadi Bou Regreg. This gigantic mosque is famous for its unfinished minaret where storks nest. Next door, visit the beautiful Mausoleum of Mohammed V with beautiful stained glass windows, white marble and a wrought-iron entryway with a stairs leading to an impressive dome.

The Medina, contains the city’s souks, bounded by Almohad ramparts and the 17th-century Andalusion Wall.
