Grey Route — The road of a thousand Kasbas
1. Rissani
Begin in Rissani, a small Saharan town in southeast of Morocco. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Timbuktu in Mali.
Highlights:
Visit a fossil workshop.
Explore the souk selling spices, vegetables and textiles.
Grab a delicious lunch pizza if you have time.

The capital village of the Berber Ait Atta tribe.
A great stopping point for lunch in a traditional Kasbah and you can take in a superb panoramic view.

Known as the Hollywood of Africa. Here you can tour cinema sets and film studios and learn some of the history of the film-making industry in Africa.
7. Ait Benhaddou
If you're heading on to Ait Benhaddou, you will experience a World Heritage site that has been used as a backdrop for more than 20 films including; Gladiator, Indiana Jones and Lawrence of Arabia.
Take a walk and explore the traditional Moroccan style of architecture in which the Kasbahs are built.
